Wikis are a great way to share information quickly and easily. Of course, one has to be careful about how much faith to put in the accuracy of the info. Last year, I taught a project in my son's class about how to judge research that is garnered from the internet. We went to many different sites including wikipedia. It was a real eye opener for the kids to see how different sites could provide different "facts" for the subjects that we were researching.
I think wikis can be useful in the library if you are looking for opinions on books for recommendations to patrons.

So, have you tried some of the interesting sites, like GoodReads?
I have been doing more social networking with that one, and Eons, which you are to young to join! You have to be over 50.
Did you set up a wiki? Let me know if you do, I would like to try it.....
